Customer Reviews for Acme Thunderer Finger Grip Referee Whistles F660
R. VINCELETTE JR (California) on September 22, 2015
I have been using the Acme Thunder finger whistle for years, I use it specifically for football as I find the peals whistles can not be heard on the field. The whistle is great for open areas. I will continue to use until I retire from officiating.

ok, everyone raves about how good the fox40 is. i'd rather hear this whistle any day. it has a good sound and i can buy two for the price of a fox40.

The plastic finger grip seemed pretty flimsy. I even decided against using it on a cold day since I thought my gloved fingers might break it--me clumsy, it cold and brittle. Used it on a warm day later, and it didn't break (one usage) (bare hands). The talkability of the pea whistle took a bit of practice vs the single tone of the Fox 40s. By the end of the game I was getting there. Season almost over for this year, so first impressions only, so far.

Whistle itself is fine, but the finger grip is pretty flimsy. One smack in the hand and that'll probably be the end of it. I'd recommend paying a little more and getting the Fox40 version.

Works but very cheap construction and wimpy sound.
