The matte rubberized finish is really good looking and actually makes it easier to grab the mask. The padding is the main reason why I got the mask - about 90% of it is removable with velcro. This is huge, since I can throw it in the washer and get the stink out. Also, having a chin pad that I can replace for under $10 is handy.
